We were very thankful for the extra hour last night when time changed. At 9:45, we drove a half hour to an Ethiopian church that has loose ties to Lancaster Mennonite Conference. They welcomed us warmly. Most of us joined the traditional service held in their Amharic language. Two went downstairs to join the English service where the younger generation worships.
One special moment in the Amharic service was when they welcomed the little children to share a verse or song of their choice. Then the children knelt and the adults prayed a blessing on them.

People were so friendly that it was hard to leave. We found lunch at a Mexican place, then some of us rested while others attended an organ concert or visited an art museum.
In the evening, we joined the church that is joined to the rectory where we’re staying. They invited us for a fellowship meal as well as their service which included a baptism and communion.
